Terms of Service

By creating an account or using MonsterCart ("we," "our," "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. Eligibility

MonsterCart is intended for use by adults 18 years of age and older. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 18.

2. What MonsterCart Does

MonsterCart generates recipe suggestions using an AI model (Anthropic's Claude), based on preferences you provide (household size, dietary restrictions, budget, cooking skill, and similar). When you select recipes, we attempt to match their ingredients to real products at your connected Kroger store and can hand off a populated cart to Kroger. We do not process payments or place grocery orders on your behalf — you complete checkout entirely within Kroger's own app or website, using your own Kroger account and payment method.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when creating your profile — recipe generation and ingredient matching depend on it.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscription tiers (Starter, Family, Pro) are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, on a monthly or yearly basis as you select at purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. Manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — we don't have the ability to directly process refunds or cancellations; those are subject to Apple's and Google's own refund policies. Prices and included features for each tier may change; we'll do our best to communicate changes in advance.

5. AI-Generated Content — Please Read This Carefully

Recipes, ingredient lists, and cooking steps are generated by an AI model based on the preferences you provide. While we instruct the AI to respect stated dietary restrictions and allergies, AI-generated content can contain mistakes, and we cannot guarantee that every recipe, ingredient, or matched grocery product will be completely free of an ingredient you've asked to avoid.

If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or a medical dietary restriction: Always independently verify every ingredient — including matched Kroger products — before consuming anything. Do not rely solely on MonsterCart's filtering for any restriction where a mistake could cause you harm.

6. Not Medical, Health, or Nutritional Advice

MonsterCart does not provide medical, health, or nutritional advice, and nothing in the app should be treated as such. We do not offer weight management guidance or personalized dietary counseling. If you have questions about your diet, allergies, medical conditions, or nutritional needs, consult a qualified physician, dietitian, or other healthcare professional.

7. Third-Party Services

MonsterCart relies on third-party services we don't control, including Kroger (product data, pricing, availability, and order fulfillment), Anthropic (recipe generation), and Apple/Google (billing). We aren't responsible for outages, errors, pricing discrepancies, or order issues originating from these third parties. Your use of Kroger's services is also subject to Kroger's own terms.

MonsterCart is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Kroger Co. "Kroger" and any related names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. We use Kroger's public developer API to look up products and prices and to build a shopping cart on your behalf, purely as a description of that integration — not as a claim of partnership.

8. Acceptable Use

Don't misuse the app, including attempting to manipulate, "jailbreak," or extract unrelated content from the in-app AI assistant, or using the service for any unlawful purpose.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

MonsterCart is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated recipes, ingredient matches, or pricing information.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MonsterCart and its developers aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to allergic reactions, incorrect ingredient matches, pricing errors, or issues with orders placed through Kroger.

11. Account Termination and Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Account tab, or via our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
